Erma’s skin care tip

by Jay Hiller, September 12, 2022

Spoiler alert: Erma’s tip works. (She didn’t recommend this brand specifically.)

There is no amount of money you could pay me to go through being in my twenties again. But I would love to have my 25 year old skin back. Since that’s not possible, I’ll share a good tip from a friend of a friend, Erma, who’s an aesthetician somewhere in downtown Austin. I mentioned to my friend, that the skin on my arms was starting to wrinkle. She said that she would ask Erma about it. She treats the skin on her body the way most of us treat the skin on our face. Erma said to use oil after a shower. She was pretty definite about oil, not lotion So I went all out and got the only body oil HEB had, pictured above, approximate cost $8, I think. (By comparison Tata Harper Skin Care has a body oil for $120 a bottle. Yikes!)

My results

I can tell a difference in the way my skin looks and feels. This particular brand I’ve been using has a pretty strong, um, scent that my husband has commented on, and not in an enthusiastic way. I try to wear pajamas I don’t care about when I do this. (I haven’t figured out a way to make this a daytime practice. It makes you greasy.) However, all in all, it’s been effective and I appreciate the tip.
