Looking ahead at my schedule this week, I realized that if I were going to do any strength training in the first part of the week, I would need to do it today. I felt tired and volunteered to cut my husband’s hair for him. (Cutting his hair is a task I also stall on sometimes.) “Do you have everything ready?” I asked.
“I don’t want to mess you up on your workout,” he said.
“That’s okay,” I said.
“Is this a thing where the hardest part is getting started?” he asked.
I did do my workout (after I cut his hair) and as usual there are no regrets in having done it once I’m finished. The hardest part is always making my way to the gym. Or the hardest part is lacing up my shoes. Or the hardest part is putting my gym bag in the car. Or the hardest part is unrolling the yoga mat. One of my daughters (maybe it was my sister–I don’t remember) told me about someone she knows of, some celebrity whose name I didn’t recognize, who started off getting into shape by going to the gym and reading magazines. He eventually got sick of reading magazines and started picking up weights.
Hey! This is my 61st post!
I’m officially 1/6 of the way through a year of posting everyday. I’m learning from the process and if you’ve read any of my blog at all, I truly appreciate it.
