Exercise snacks are a great way to take care of your body when you’re pressed for time. I heard about them many times, before I saw them effectively demonstrated by a high school student who had a hard time sitting still. He had permission from his teacher to get up periodically and do some pushups during class. In a 45 minute class he probably did more than 30, 3-5 push ups at a time.
I incorporated exercise snacks into my day today by taking a couple of 5-15 walks. Other things I like to do are squats, headstands, lateral lunges, standing yoga poses, never more than 10 reps or a few minutes at a time. The main thing I want to do is get out of my chair or distract myself from worky-work whatever. And there are days where I simply can’t dedicate a significant block of time for a longer practice. You can exercise snack with any exercise you like to do.
