A friend at work brought me a big bag of homegrown bean sprouts today. I felt so lucky. They tasted much better than the ones I get at the super market. And bean sprouts are good for you. They have high concentrations of vitamin C and are a source of protein and dietary fiber. Some potential health benefits include prevention of high blood pressure, slowed growth of cancer cells and possible protection from some eye conditions such as age-related macular degeneration (source WebMD).
