A participant in my spin class today introduced herself by saying that she didn’t spin a lot and wasn’t going to do very much. My observation was that she did a good job of pushing herself and I would bet got her heart rate up for the duration of the class. And she seemed to be enjoying herself while doing so. She told me she had. My point is that unless you’re training for the Olympics, and maybe not even then, not every workout has to be a kick-your-own-ass can’t-wait-till-it’s-over session. For me it’s always been first, working out regularly and then, playing with the edges of what I’m able to do.
