I’m back.

It turns out, all I needed was a break. Writing a blog post a day, even on a topic I like, was hard to sustain. I’m back and here’s what I’m thinking about. (Thank you, Elena, for asking about this today.)

Consistent Workouts Pay Off

The last 2 weeks have presented me with some emotional challenges. Making time to work out gave me some structure and a break from my own thoughts. It was good tonight to look back at the chart my app makes for me and see that I got all of my workouts in over the last 8 weeks.

Feeling considerably better tonight, I added a fun twist to my weights workout–hula hooping during the intervals. I had fun doing it and most likely got my heart rate up a little.

Good people are all around us.

Looking back on the last two weeks, I spent a lot of time stomping around feeling sorry for myself. During that time, there were more people who were kind and patient with me than not. That includes two colleagues at worky work who took time out of busy schedules today to help me. I should also mention my long suffering husband. Unrelated to all that, I found out this week, pretty much by accident, that about 6 or 7 years ago, my family unknowingly benefited in a significant way from the generosity of someone that I’ve been barely acquainted with for years.

Onward! Subscribe here.

Onward is a good word. It turns out I haven’t said everything I have to say, on getting older, fitness, yoga or any other topic.

  1. YAYYYYY! You’re back! I’ve been experiencing Over 42 Club withdrawal as I’m a consummate fan! Many of your “words of wisdom” and recommendations have been woven and/or looped into my lifestyle and wellness toolkit. For this, and your effervescent sense of humor, I am grateful! Huge happy hugs!

    1. Oh Ramona, that means so much to me. Thank you!
