This afternoon I came home from worky work unhappy with a decision I’ve half made. The weather’s not as hot as it’s going to be, but it’s hot enough to make you remember how bad it’s gonna get. I was cranky. It was a great time to go for a walk.
My husband says that when he’s running, the movement functions as a gentle agitation that helps him calm down. Tonight’s walk was similar for me. I deliberately left my phone on the counter and the break from obsessively checking it was a side benefit.
What I’ve been working on in my yoga practice:
I’ve been working on poses that strengthen the back of the body (lots of locusts and plank variations) and poses that open the front of the body (camel variations, bridges, wheels). Whatever I’m doing drifts into my yoga teaching. I couldn’t tell what people in the class I taught Monday night thought of it.
